STAGING

Collective Defiance is a list of local town halls, protests, and other community events in defiance of the Trump administration.

We only support non-violent action. In addition to being a moral imperative, non-violence is a political strategy. It leads to social change by intentionally provoking compassion and empathy on the part of the viewer. Research shows that it is 10 times more likely to result in democratic change.

To add an event, please post the details to BlueSky with the hashtag #CollectiveDefiance.

Jewish Voters Unite

Mobilize Voters at the JCC Manhattan

Sun Oct 12 @ 2pm • New York, NY 10023
Join Jewish Voters Unite (JVU) in preparing our community for the November 4th election! JVU is a non-partisan organization that builds Jewish voting infrastructure. Materials can be picked up and dropped off at the JCC Box Office. Please bring ID so you can access the restroom if needed! Because we are strictly non-partisan, volunteers may not discuss any specific candidate while serving a volunteer shift with JVU or while using JVU materials and tools. *Training required:* Before your first shift, please review our short mandatory volunteer training materials. They’re engaging, fun, and take less than 10 minutes. After completing the training, email Sam at [email protected] with the code word. Progressive Victory embraces queer & neurodivergent, new-to-activism volunteers of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities. Over the long term, we aim to mainstream the online, progressive power block burgeoning within the Democratic Party and prove that it, and we, are too big to ignore.

Unfortunately, Mayor Eric Adams — at the behest of the real estate lobby — created a loophole allowing buildings to evade their responsibilities under the law. The good news is that a new bill, Intro 1180, will close this loophole. **The clock is ticking on our chance to pass Intro 1180 this year. Please join us in collecting petitions to encourage the City Council to pass this important climate bill now!** _We'll be meeting in the plaza outside the 72nd Street subway station._
