Collective Defiance is a list of local town halls, protests, and other community events in defiance of the Trump administration.

We only support non-violent action. In addition to being a moral imperative, non-violence is a political strategy. It leads to social change by intentionally provoking compassion and empathy on the part of the viewer. Research shows that it is 10 times more likely to result in democratic change.

What is an Environmental Assessment, anyway?

Wed Apr 9 @ 10:30pm • The Bronx, NY 10459
Big construction projects often require an environmental assessment or an environmental impact statement. These are reports that specify how the project would impact the community’s air, water, and soil health. It also speaks to how the project might impact flooding in the area. Basically, these reports help a community understand the environmental impacts of a project, and answer the question if the benefit of the project is equal to its long term cost. Once construction is done, it is the community who will have to breathe the air or clean the water. Learn more about environmental assessments, how to read them, and how you can engage in the process that comes after. Join Save the Sound, the Bronx River Alliance, and Transportation Alternatives online or in-person to learn about environmental assessments!

Whenever any regular meeting of the Board shall fall on a holiday, the meeting shall be held on the following day. Key decisions about county policy are decided at these meetings across the state, and far too often Republicans show up and show up loud even when their goal seems to be to spread misinformation and undermine our majority on the Board. Even if you don't have something you plan to say during the public comment period, be there to support Democratic values! It is about time policymakers know what the majority of Clayton residents really believe.
