The goal of Collective Defiance is to stand against the cruelty, chaos, and corruption of the Trump administration. Our primary tactic is putting up billboards and running online social media campaigns aligned with three basic goals:
With recent elections swinging towards Democrats by 15-20 points, many Senate seats are now toss-ups in 2026. These include Iowa, Ohio, Texas, Alaska, Maine, and North Carolina. We're testing ads that influence how people will vote in the 2026 midterms. We believe the sweet spot for these ads is the intersection of three areas: 1) issues where the Trump administration is the most unpopular, 2) issues that voters care most about, and 3) issues that voters trust Democrats most on.
The progression towards an authoritarian state under the Trump administration can only proceed with the complicity of his base and Congressional Republicans. As Trump's popularity erodes, this support can be undermined. We're testing and running ads whose goal is to reduce Trump's favorability specifically among Republicans.
A few issues most clearly represent the moral depths to which the Trump administration has sunk: detaining and murdering innocent civilians, throwing millions of people off healthcare, destroying the American economy through ineptitude and incompetence, and turning the government into a vehicle for massive corruption. We're testing ads to highlight these issues among American voters, with the goal of reversing the erosion of American ideals.
