STAGING

Collective Defiance is a list of local town halls, protests, and other community events in defiance of the Trump administration.

We only support non-violent action. In addition to being a moral imperative, non-violence is a political strategy. It leads to social change by intentionally provoking compassion and empathy on the part of the viewer. Research shows that it is 10 times more likely to result in democratic change.

To add an event, please post the details to BlueSky with the hashtag #CollectiveDefiance.

Postcarding to Remind Infrequent NYC Voters the Importance of VOTING!

Tue Jun 3 @ 10pm • New York, NY 10003
We're still calling all Activist New Yorkers! Essentially, we cannot allow low voter turnout in the last presidential election to become the norm, particularly with a very important primary election coming up on June 24th. Here, not only the mayoral race matters, but all down the ballot, including our judges, right? In the hour of Trump, we have learned how imperative it is to have sincere, Constitution-abiding judges protecting our rights. The Action Group NYC and Eleanor Roosevelt Independent Democratic Club are hosting a long-term postcard writing initiative targeting voters who typically sit out primary and midterm elections. Let's help others regain their confidence in speaking up! Join us on Tuesday, June 3rd, 6 - 8 pm, 12 Grammercy Park South, as we gather together in a cozy townhouse and write messages that work towards rebuilding our fragmented communities. Slow and steady, we can make the difference! Your personal encouragement goes a long way towards reminding New Yorkers of the power of their voice to make a difference, that speaking up and voting is the utmost form of activism.
